Snub — Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Snub is an anonymous, location-aware confession app. For support or privacy requests: snub.app@gmail.com.

2. Age

Snub is intended for users aged 18 years or older. We do not knowingly permit minors to register.

3. Data we collect

• Account identifiers: Username (user_id), Firebase UID.
• Device identifiers: IDFV and other SDK-provided identifiers used for app functionality and diagnostics.
• Coarse location: Approximate location used to show nearby confessions. Precise GPS is not stored unless a user explicitly tags a post.
• User content: Confessions, comments, mood tags, timestamps, and any voluntarily provided media.
• Usage & diagnostics: Analytics and crash logs (if enabled).

4. How we use data

We use your data for core functionality, moderation, safety, analytics, push notifications, and to respond to support requests. Coarse location is used only to show local content and is not linked to personal identity.

5. Moderation & automated filtering

Snub uses keyword filters and AI-based moderation (e.g., OpenAI moderation) to detect abusive or explicit content. Content violating policies may be blocked before posting or removed after review. Reported content is reviewed and actioned within 24 hours.

6. Linking data to identity

The data we collect (user id, device id, coarse location) is not linked to a user’s real-world identity unless you voluntarily include identifying details in a confession. We do not require phone numbers or emails at signup.

7. Data retention & deletion

Confessions are removed from public feed after 24 hours. You may permanently delete your account from within the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account), which permanently removes your profile and authored content. Some logs may persist briefly for operational reasons.

8. Third-party services

We use services such as Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics) and OpenAI (moderation). These providers process data under their own privacy policies to provide required services.

9. Advertising & tracking

We currently do not serve third-party ads or engage in cross-app tracking. If we introduce ads, we will update this policy and seek user consent as required.

10. Your rights

• Access & correction: Update username/profile in app settings.
• Delete account: Use in-app deletion or contact snub.app@gmail.com.
• Contact: For privacy questions email snub.app@gmail.com.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app or via email where applicable.
